Add Edit Delete Goal

Create a Goal

Only an agency admin can create agency levels goals. Sales Managers and Producers can create individual goals for their own targets.

  1. On the top navigation bar click Sales and then select the Goals tile.
  2. On the top command bar click New. The new goals page appears.
  3. In the General section, enter the Name for this goal. If this will be a parent goal, leave the Parent Goal field empty. If not click on the look up button and add the Parent Goal.
  4. For the Goal Metric field, select the metric you want. For this instruction, we chose the Phone Calls metric we created in the above steps.
  5. For the Goal OwnerThe person for whom the goal is set. and ManagerDefaults to the user logged in, typically the sales manager when setting goals for producers. fields choose the appropriate user.
  6. In the Time Period section, select the Goal Period Type of Custom Period or Fiscal Period. In this instruction we chose Fiscal Period.
  7. From Fiscal Period drop-down list select P1. P1 stands for Period 1.
  8. From the Fiscal Year drop-down list select the Year. For this instruction we chose 2016.
  9. Enter the From and To dates where this goal would apply.
  10. In the Goal Criteria section, for Roll Up Only from Child Goals, choose No or Yes. For this instruction we chose No.
  11. For the Record Set for Rollup choose Owned by goal owner or All. For this instruction we chose Owned by Goal Owner.
  12. For the Rollup Query – Actual choose the rollup query, only if you chose All in step 11.
  13. Click Save.

Add Child Goals

You must save your current goal before you can add a child goal.

  1. Once you save the goal, click inside the Child Goal section.
  2. And on the top navigation bar under the Goals tab click Add New Goal. The new goals page appears.
  3. Notice that the Parent Goal, Goal Metric and Manager fields are auto-filled.
  4. Complete the General, Time Period, Targets, and Goal Criteria.
  5. Enter any Notes if required.
  6. Click Save and Close. This goal will now appear in the child goals section of the parent goal.
  7. Click Save and Close on the parent goal.

SalesTrack will calculate the goals every 24 hours. To manually calculate, click the Recalculate button inside the goals page. The Actual section within the goal’s page will list the current data and percent achieved.

Recalculate Goals

Once you have added the parent and child goals, you can have the Actuals section within the goals populated with the current achieved numbers.

  1. On the top navigation bar click Sales and then select the Goals tile. A list all current goals appear.
  2. Double-click on the goal you want to see the actual numbers for. The goals page appears.
  3. On the top navigation bar click Recalculate. A confirmation message appears click OK.
  4. SalesTrack will calculate the number and update the fields in the Actuals section within the Goal.
  5. Alternatively, from the Goals listing page, select the goal you want and in the top command bar click Recalculate.

Activate a Goal

  1. On the top navigation bar click Sales and select the Goal tile. A list of goals appear.
  2. Select the goal you want to activate, and then on the top command bar click Activate. A confirmation message appears.
  3. Click Activate.

Edit a goal

Only an Agency Admin can edit Agency goals. Sales Manager can edit their team goals and their own goals and Producers can edit their own goals.

  1. On the top navigation bar click Sales and select the Goals tile. A list of all goals appear.
  2. Select the goal you want to edit, and then on the top command bar click Edit. The goals page appears.
  3. Make the required changes and the click Save and Close.

Close a Goal

Closing typically occurs when the goal time period is over and you are done measuring and tracking the goal. Once closed, the goal will deactivate and you will have a history of the goal data in the system.

  1. On the top navigation bar click Sales and select the Goals tile. A list of goal appears.
  2. Select the goal you want to close, and then on the top command bar click Close Goal. A confirmation message appears.
  3. From the Status drop-down list select Close or Discarded.
  4. Click Deactivate.

Delete Goal

Once you delete a goal, you will lose all goal data from SalesTrack.

  1. On the top navigation bar click Sales and select the Goals tile. A list of goal metrics appears.
  2. Select the goal you want to delete, and then on the top command bar click Delete. A confirmation message appears.
  3. Click Delete.
